The funding for plug-in hybrids ends on December 31, 2022.
From January 1, 2023, the entitlement to the environmental bonus is limited to owners of pure electric vehicles (battery and fuel cell powered). The one-off funding amounts to €3,000 to €4,500, depending on the purchase price.
The federal share of the funding is for battery-electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles

with net list price up to 40,000 euros: 4,500 euros;

with a net list price between 40,000 euros and up to 65,000 euros: 3,000 euros.

Private individuals and businesses are initially eligible to apply.
For traders, August 31, 2023 was the deadline, as from September 1, 2023 The circle of those eligible to apply is limited to private individuals.
Electric vehicles with a net purchase price of over €45,000 will no longer receive funding from January 1st, 2024.
The share of manufacturers is also reduced, as this should continue to amount to 50 percent of total federal funding in the future. The Climate and Transformation Fund (KTF) provides the funds for the environmental bonus. The fund is powered by proceeds from European and national emissions trading. 2.1 billion euros are available for 2023 and 1.3 billion euros in 2024. If these funds are exhausted, the funding opportunity ends.
Where can you apply for the environmental bonus to be paid out?
The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control remains responsible for paying out the environmental bonus (BAFA). Buyers can submit their applicationElectriccars on the Website of BAFA online
Can the environmental bonus be combined with other subsidies?
Yes. The environmental bonus can be combined with other funding. Buyers may be able to benefit from even higher subsidies overall. The prerequisite for applicants to be able to apply for further public funding in addition to the environmental bonus is that the respective funding provider has concluded an administrative agreement with the BMWK. It determines how the different funding programs interact and ensures that the budgetary and state aid requirements are adhered to. Bodies with which administrative agreements have been concluded are published on the (BAFA) website.
Does the funding opportunity also apply to electric light vehicles and two-wheelers?
According to the press release, LEVs and electric two-wheelers in vehicle classes L1e and L3e are not explicitly mentioned or excluded. But the fact is that these sustainable alternatives are not intended for funding. When asked, the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) informed us:
"The background is that these vehicles are not yet the subject of the funding program. According to No. 3.1 of the directive, electric vehicles of classes M1 and N1 as well as vehicles of class N2 are eligible for funding if they can be driven with a class B driving license."
